How to prepare for a photoshoot! In this case - a kitchen shoot

Congratulations! Firstly you’ve got a completed project ready for photography!

By now, we’ve got a date booked in. But maybe this is your first shoot - and you have no idea how it will go! Well, let me tell you firstly - you’re in experienced hands! But here are a few pointers that will help you get the best out of the shoot.

The space shoot ready - styled, and clean! Click the image to see the finals - to help get an idea of how it will look!

Our main goals before we begin the shoot -

Clean decluttered surfaces - and floors! We want to start with as bare a kitchen as possible! Then I bring in props and style the space - think magazine ready!

That means…surfaces clear. No pets, and no washing up bottles! haha. However, a pet in the final shoot - YES!

Consider the background - Is the garden finished? Are there distracting elements outside? Let’s have those hidden!

Fresh flowers and fruit! These make such a difference to a space, but consider ones that work well with the tone of the space. We want complimenting colours! But don’t worry I can bring these with me! Along with fresh bread!

Fresh lemons, plants, books, all great for a shoot!

Do all the kitchen features work? Bulbs all in? If you have some statement lighting, let’s make sure that’s all ready!

Customer ready! Make the customer aware of the length of the shoot - there’s nothing worse than being stuck outside your kitchen dying for a coffee or lunch! Whilst they are free to wander in for a quick drink…we ideally want them aware it may take a few hours!!

Of course, I am always on hand to ask! Once you’ve booked in a shoot, I am available to discuss any worries, and I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve for all situations! Even if there are bits missing, I got you!
